Access the Passenger-Side Headlight

The passenger-side headlight is the easier side of the installation. Reach behind the headlight housing from the engine bay to access the rear of the headlight without removing the air box.

Remove the Factory 9012/HIR2 Halogen Bulb

Remove the rear headlight access cover as required, disconnect the factory electrical connector and remove the original 9012/HIR2 halogen bulb from the housing.

Install the 9012 LED Headlight Bulb

Insert the FUZED LED 9012 bulb into the factory headlight housing and lock it securely into place. Connect the LED bulb to the factory headlight connector and make sure the wiring is positioned safely inside the housing.

Test the LED Headlight

Before finishing reassembly, turn the headlights on and confirm that the new LED bulb operates correctly.

Remove the Air Box for Driver-Side Access

Remove the necessary air-intake and air-box components to create enough working room behind the driver-side headlight housing. Once the air box is out of the way, the rear of the headlight becomes accessible.

Remove the Driver-Side Halogen Bulb

With access to the back of the headlight, remove the factory 9012/HIR2 halogen bulb and disconnect it from the factory wiring.

Install the FUZED LED Bulb

Install the FUZED LED bulb into the factory headlight housing, connect the wiring and make sure the bulb is fully seated and secured.

Test the LED Headlight

Before finishing reassembly, turn the headlights on and confirm that the new LED bulb operates correctly.

Reinstall the Air Box

Once the driver-side headlight has been tested and everything is operating correctly, reinstall the air box and any intake components removed during the installation.

Factory Halogen vs FUZED LED Beam Pattern

Light output is only part of an LED headlight upgrade. The way the light source works with the factory projector housing also affects where the light is projected onto the road.

To show the difference, we photographed the factory 9012/HIR2 halogen beam pattern against a dark wall and then photographed the FUZED LED output against the same wall after the installation.

The comparison shows the change from the warmer factory halogen output to the whiter LED output while allowing you to see how the factory Challenger headlight housing projects the light after the bulb change.

How to Adjust 2015–2023 Dodge Challenger Headlights

After replacing a headlight bulb, it is a good idea to check the headlight aim. A brighter bulb does not compensate for a headlight housing that is aimed too high or too low.

A wall provides a useful visual reference when checking the vertical position of the beam pattern. Park the vehicle on a level surface facing a flat wall, keep the vehicle straight and compare the position of the beam pattern to the height and position of the headlights.

Locate the Headlight Adjustment Screw

The vertical headlight adjustment is made using the adjustment point on the headlight assembly. Make small adjustments while watching the beam position on the wall rather than making a large change all at once.

Does the 2015–2023 Dodge Challenger Use Separate High-Beam Bulbs?

Not on the factory-halogen headlight configuration covered in this installation. The Challenger uses one 9012/HIR2 bulb in each headlight housing for both low- and high-beam operation.

Instead of switching to a second high-beam bulb, the headlight housing changes the projected beam pattern when the high beams are activated. Therefore, a pair of 9012/HIR2 bulbs replaces the headlight bulbs on the vehicle.

2015–2023 Dodge Challenger Fog Light Bulb Size

The replaceable front fog-light bulb listed for the 2015–2023 Dodge Challenger is H11. This applies to vehicles equipped with the applicable factory fog-light configuration.

What If My Challenger Has Factory D3S HID Headlights?

Some 2015–2023 Dodge Challengers were equipped with factory HID headlights instead of the 9012/HIR2 halogen system.

The factory HID bulb is D3S. A factory-HID Challenger should not use the 9012/HIR2 LED bulbs shown in the halogen installation above.

In addition to the exterior lighting, the Challenger uses several replaceable interior bulbs. Some lighting positions and equipment can vary by configuration, so verify the original bulb before replacing optional interior lighting.

Which 2015–2023 Challenger Exterior Lights Are Factory LED?

Unlike earlier Challenger generations that used replaceable incandescent bulbs in many exterior positions, much of the exterior lighting on the 2015–2023 generation is integrated LED lighting.

Factory LED positions include the front park/turn lighting, front side markers, tail lights, brake/rear turn lights, rear side markers, reverse lights, center high-mounted stop light and license-plate lighting.

Because these positions are factory LED assemblies rather than conventional replaceable bulbs, we do not list traditional replacement bulb sizes for them in this guide.
