Build Your Silverado 1500 LED Upgrade
Upgrade the main exterior lighting positions individually, or use this list to build a complete setup.
Factory LED Headlights
This configuration may use an integrated factory LED headlight assembly instead of a replaceable H11 low-beam bulb.
We do not recommend ordering a H11 headlight bulb for this configuration without verifying your factory lighting setup first.
Reverse and license plate LED upgrades may still be available for your Silverado 1500.
Looking for the correct 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 headlight or exterior light bulb size? This guide covers the common factory lighting configurations, including H11 low beams, 9005/HB3 high beams, 5202/PS24W fog lights, D5S HID headlights, 921/W16W reverse and cargo bulbs, and 194/W5W license plate bulbs.
Important: 2016–2018 Silverado 1500 trucks can have either factory HID or factory LED headlights. Those configurations do not use the same replacement headlight bulb. Verify your factory headlight assembly before ordering. Aftermarket headlight assemblies can also use different bulb sizes.

2014–2015: Factory Halogen Headlights

The common factory-halogen setup for 2014 and 2015 Silverado 1500 trucks uses:
- Low Beam: H11 — Shop H11 F1 LED Headlights →
- High Beam: 9005 / HB3 — Shop 9005 F1 LED Headlights →
- Fog Light: 5202 / PS24W — Shop 5202 LED Fog Lights →
2016–2018: Factory HID Headlights

Factory HID-equipped 2016–2018 trucks use a D5S HID bulb rather than the H11/9005 arrangement used on 2014–2015 factory-halogen trucks.
Do not order an H11 or 9005 headlight kit for a truck equipped with factory D5S HID headlights. For the factory HID configuration, use a compatible D5S solution.

2016–2018: Factory LED Headlights
Some 2016–2018 Silverado 1500 configurations use sealed factory LED headlight assemblies. These assemblies do not have a conventional replaceable H11, 9005 or D5S headlight bulb.
Do not order an H11, 9005 or D5S headlight kit for a sealed factory LED headlight assembly. Reverse and license plate bulbs can still be upgraded where the truck uses the replaceable applications listed in this guide.
How Do I Know Which Silverado Headlights I Have?
2014–2015 Silverado 1500
The factory-halogen configuration uses an H11 low beam and 9005/HB3 high beam.
2016–2018 Silverado 1500: HID vs. Factory LED
Look behind the driver-side headlight assembly under the hood. On the configurations covered by this guide, a factory HID housing has a removable rubber dust cover that provides access to the D5S bulb. A sealed factory LED assembly does not have a conventional bulb-access dust cover.
If you have a removable dust cover and can identify the D5S bulb, use the D5S HID-to-LED upgrade. If the assembly is sealed, do not attempt to install an H11, 9005 or D5S bulb.
Have Aftermarket Headlights?
If your Silverado has aftermarket headlight assemblies, this factory bulb chart may not apply. Use the bulb specification supplied by the aftermarket headlight manufacturer and verify the bulb already installed before ordering.

Can I Upgrade My Silverado 1500 Headlights to LED?
If your Silverado has a compatible replaceable factory halogen or HID bulb, an LED upgrade can provide a whiter appearance and increased usable light output. The correct bulb must still match the factory headlight assembly.
A brighter bulb is not automatically a better headlight. Bulb fitment, emitter position, thermal management, electrical compatibility and beam pattern all affect how much useful light reaches the road.
What Makes a Good Silverado LED Headlight?
A quality LED headlight upgrade should provide:
- Correct bulb fitment
- Proper LED emitter positioning
- Good thermal management
- Reliable electrical operation
- A controlled beam pattern
- Adequate housing and dust-cover clearance
- Secure installation
- Compatibility with the factory headlight assembly
The goal is usable light on the road with a controlled beam pattern, not simply the largest advertised lumen number.
Silverado LED Headlight Output & Beam Pattern
The factory headlight housing is designed around the position and shape of the original light source. LED emitter position therefore matters. Poor positioning can create scattered light, reduced usable output, glare and poor cutoff definition.

How to Install LED Headlight Bulbs on a 2014–2015 Silverado
Driver Side
- Open the hood and locate the rear of the headlight assembly.
- Remove the dust cover by turning it counterclockwise.
- Disconnect the factory bulb, twist it counterclockwise and remove it.
- Install the Fuzed LED bulb by aligning the locking tabs with the mounting points and turning the bulb clockwise until locked.
- Make sure the bulb is fully seated and correctly oriented. The adjustable F1 Series base allows the bulb to be clocked so the LED chips face horizontally, left to right.
- Turn on the headlights and verify operation. If a bulb does not illuminate, check the electrical connection and polarity.
Passenger Side
Access on the passenger side requires moving the factory airbox out of the way.
Quick tip: Turn the ignition off before working around the passenger-side airbox and electrical connections.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the airbox and loosen the hose clamp on the intake tube.
- Pull the intake tube away from the airbox, then carefully work the airbox upward until it can be moved out of the way.
- Remove the four retaining clips from the panel covering the rear of the headlight and move the panel aside.
- Follow the same bulb-removal and Fuzed LED installation steps used on the driver side.
- After installation, park on a level surface facing a wall or garage door and verify that the headlights are aimed evenly.

How to Install D5S LED Headlight Bulbs on a 2016–2018 Silverado
This section applies to compatible factory HID/D5S-equipped trucks, not sealed factory LED headlight assemblies.

Driver Side
- Open the hood and locate the rear of the headlight assembly.
- Remove the dust cover by turning it counterclockwise.
- Disconnect the HID bulb and push the release tab upward to release the bulb.
- Install the Fuzed LED D5S bulb with the connector oriented downward, then return the release tab to the locked position.
- Connect the factory harness to the LED D5S bulb.
- Turn on the headlights and verify operation. If the bulb does not illuminate, check the connection and polarity.
- Reinstall the dust cover.
Passenger Side
The passenger-side airbox must be moved for access.
Quick tip: Turn the ignition off before working around the passenger-side airbox and electrical connections.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the airbox and loosen the hose clamp on the intake tube.
- Pull the intake tube away and carefully move the airbox upward and out of the way.
- Remove the four retaining clips from the panel behind the headlight and move the panel aside.
- Follow the same D5S removal and installation steps used on the driver side.
- After installation, park on a level surface facing a wall or garage door and verify even headlight aim.

Silverado LED Headlight Troubleshooting
My LED Bulb Won't Turn On
Check the electrical connection, polarity, bulb seating and the applicable factory fuse. Make sure the bulb is fully locked into the housing before testing.
My LED Headlights Are Flickering
Check bulb compatibility and all electrical connections. LED bulbs draw and manage power differently from halogen bulbs, so the replacement must be compatible with the truck's lighting system.
My LED Bulb Won't Fit
Do not force the bulb. Check the bulb base, locking tabs, O-ring/seal, housing clearance and whether the truck has an OEM or aftermarket headlight assembly. Aftermarket headlights may require a completely different bulb size.

Silverado Turn Signal & Brake Light Bulbs
The 2014 information in the original guide lists 7443 for the front turn signal/parking light and 7444 for the rear stop/tail/turn application. Because these circuits can be sensitive to LED load changes and fitment can vary, verify the original bulb and electrical requirements before converting these positions to LED.
